Bosnia and Bangladesh are also considered safer than NZ. A new study released by ValuePenguin has ranked 106 countries. New Zealand is ranked at 41st just behind Bosnia.
The researchers explained that “Of the 195 or so countries in the world, 107 reported enough data to our reputable sources to be ranked. As we note in our methodology below, our belief is that a country without accessible data is less likely to be safe than one with troves of it.”
The points they used to rank safety were based on population, C02 emissions, police personel, traffic deaths, thefts, assaults, and life expectancy.
Switzerland ranked as the safest country in the world as it averaged just seven violent crimes per 100,000 people and requires its citizens to apply for health care coverage.
In another study New Zealand ranks as the fourth safest country in the world, behind Iceland, Denmark and Austria. So quote whatever study you prefer most.
