3 Healthy Snacks That Your Nutritionist Actually Wants You To Eat

If there’s one struggle that pretty much every woman can relate to, it’s that 3.30pm workday hunger because seriously, dinner is soooo far away. While we all know that the afternoon hunger struggle is just way too real, the simple truth is that reaching for a packet of chips or a big piece of chocolate cake every time your tummy rumbles is not going to help you in the long run.

With this in mind, the good people at Real Simple spoke to nutritionists to find out what they would recommend as a healthy workday snack. The good news is that the nutritionists were all for having snacks if you are hungry – and their suggestions are just as delicious as that cupcake you have sitting in your top drawer!

1. Almond butter and banana on toast

Nutritionist Jim White, owner of Jim White Fitness and Nutrition Studios, says he snacks on wholemeal bread with a quarter of a banana and one tablespoon of almond butter for slow-burning energy release. “This is also a great option for a late afternoon snack if you plan to exercise before returning home from work,” says White.
