To be honest, I actually can’t think of anything worse than standing in a room full of strangers having my photo taken in my undies. Recently named as the new face of Jockey, season one winner of The Bachelor Matilda Rice had to do just that. Brave girl!
In a recent chat with us Matilda opened up about what it was like posing in her undies for the new campaign, and told us exactly how she managed to get in shape for the big campaign. Matilda explained that the hardest thing about getting in shape was balancing a fitness routine with her busy life.
“There is no secret! I wish there was,” said Matilda. “Balancing fitness with a busy life is the tough bit. The key is to get in to a routine with activities that you actually enjoy. There’s no point doing exercise you hate, it’s a waste of time. If I’m extra short on time, I like to do a quick workout in my lunch break, whether it’s a run in the park or even running up and down the many flights of stairs in the office!”
So after all of that working out, did Matilda feel body-confident when the day of the shoot came? “It was a tad daunting at first, especially since the room was a little chilly to start, and I was doing the shoot with two other gorgeous professional models!” confessed Matilda.

“Soon as I relaxed in to it, and got to know the crew and other models I felt totally comfortable.Everyone was so lovely and really supportive, so by the end of it I felt so comfortable I didn’t even need to put the robe back on between shoots, I just ate lunch in my Jockeys!”
Despite her initial nerves, Matilda said that she is excited to be the star of the new Jockey campaign and when given the opportunity, she jumped at the chance to represent an iconic Kiwi brand. “Jockey is such a premium brand, and is iconic for so many Kiwis, so naturally I jumped at the chance to work with them. The range is so comfortable and fits in seamlessly with my lifestyle… I couldn’t say no!” said Matilda.
Well, the working out definitely paid off! Go girl.
