Shopping for a wedding dress is a bit like finding a good pair of boots. There are a lot of options out there, but generally, if you really want something that will impress, you need to be prepared to spend fairly extravagant amounts of money. Recognising the gap in the market for affordable, yet stylish wedding gowns, one of our favourite affordable brands Topshop has announced they will be launching their own wedding collection this year and our guess is that for thrifty brides, this could be a game changer.
The collection will features bridal dresses, bridesmaid dresses, lingerie and accessories, looking to compete with the likes of ASOS who have become a popular destination for affordable bridesmaid dresses. Topshop are yet to release any substantial details about the collection, however it is known that the collection will consist of five wedding dresses with prices starting at £350 ($600), and a large selection of bridesmaids dresses starting at £85 ($145).
The initial collection will mark Topshop’s first venture into the wedding market, with a release date set for April. So far the British retailer have only released one photograph from the collection, featuring model Grace Elizabeth dressed in a stunning blush-tinted dress. No news yet as to if the collection will also be making its way to New Zealand and Australia, but our guess is that if the launch goes well in Britain, it will only be a matter of time before Kiwi brides have access to something of a similar nature.
