Now that it’s heading into winter and the nights are getting even colder it’s time to snuggle up in bed, grab your laptop, and Netflix (and chill). Netflix has become a massive hit over the past few years and if you’re not watching it then you’ve probably been living under a rock. There’s everything you could ever want on the streaming platform, from documentaries to films to tv shows. You’ll never run out of things to view.
But with so many options comes the problem of having too many options. It’s so hard to pick what the best thing is to watch. That’s why we’re here with a list of our top Netflix shows. Now you can just sit back, relax, and watch til your heart’s content.
Orange is the New Black
A classic Netflix series. Who wouldn’t love a show centred around hot prison lesbians? It’s everyone’s dream. Funny, diverse, and drama-filled this is not one to be missed. Plus, there’s already four seasons out with a fifth one only a month away!
If you haven’t watched Stranger Things yet then you are totally missing out! This was my favourite new show of last year and it definitely lived up to the hype. Its 80s vibes are everything you need and more.
House of Cards
For the more politically inclined of our readers, this one’s for you. A political drama with a dash of witty humour and the incredibly amazing Kevin Spacey. There’s so much to love about this show.
This was a show I was just watching to pass the time and actually ended up being one of my favourite Netflix shows. It’s a sci-fi type show that’s awfully hard to explain to people but you should definitely check it out if you love anything to do with time travel.
I have been waiting for this show for so long and honestly, so worth the wait. The story of Nasty Gal’s founder, albeit slightly embellished for television, is one of disaster, success, and everything in between!
When I found out that one of my favourite Shortland St actors (KJ Apa) was going to be on an American TV series, I knew I wouldn’t be able to miss it. Full of teen drama and angst, with a bit of murder and suspense thrown in for good measure, this is my pick for the hit Netflix show of 2017.
A Series of Unfortunate Events
For those of you who read the books and loved them and then watched the movie and hated it, you’ll (hopefully) like this one a lot better. Neil Patrick Harris does an incredible job as Count Olaf and, despite not sticking to the books as much as I would’ve liked, I think they did a really great job with this series.
