Mila Kunis has always been glamorous, but now she doesn’t need the enhancement of makeup to look absolutely stunning. In the August issue of Glamour, the female actor poses fresh-faced with only serum, eye cream and lip balm (and careful lighting). She still looks amazing – even with her hair tied back.
The caption? “Well, this makes life easy”.
Kunis, who is a mother of a 21-month-old and expecting her second child with husband Ashton Kutcher, has no time for makeup. “I don’t wear makeup. I don’t wash my hair every day. It’s not something that I associate with myself,” she told Glamour. “I commend women who wake up 30, 40 minutes early to put on eyeliner. I think it’s beautiful. I’m just not that person.”
It’s not only makeup Kunis is against – she cites one particularly bad experience with Photoshop that makes her not able to stand the digital manipulation tool. “I hate it,” she said. “There was a company that I did a photo shoot for once that manipulated the photo so much, I was like, ‘that’s not even me’. Like, what’s the point? You wanted my name, and then you wanted the version of me that I’m not. I absolutely hate it”.
This is the latest in the growing trend of celebrities appearing publicly without makeup. Alicia Keys caused a stir when she appeared on the BET red carpet last month without any makeup on. A few days ago Buzzfeed even got on the bandwagon, introducing 6 male guinea pigs to the minimalist ‘no-makeup’ makeup look.
Kunis admits she doesn’t mind a bit of help, though. “Do I sometimes want them to depuff my eyes? Help me out with a little bit of lighting,” she shared. “But do I want them to stretch my legs, thin out my waist, curve my hips, elongate my neck, blah, blah, blah? No.”
