Jaden Smith shows us it’s acceptable for males to wear skirts

Son of the famous Will Smith has been shattering the way people view fashion. Becoming the first male to model for Louis Vuitton’s womenswear collection, Smith has been rocking skirts left right and centre! He stars in the brand’s Spring 2016 campaign alongside other Louis Vuitton female models. Before this campaign, Jaden was already known for his unique style and pushing the boundaries of fashion. Now Smith has incorporated the skirt into everyday life, showing the world it is acceptable for men to wear woman’s clothing. 12445999_1682336518645014_163241096_n

Smith has told Nylon Magazine, “The world is going to keep bashing me for whatever I do, and I’m going to keep not caring. I’m going to keep doing the same things — I’m going to keep doing more things. I’m going to take most of the blows for my fellow MSFTS. So, you know, in five years when a kid goes to school wearing a skirt, he won’t get beat up and kids won’t get mad at him. It just doesn’t matter. I’m taking the brunt of it so that later on, my kids and the next generations of kids will all think that certain things are normal that weren’t expected before my time.”

Smith is showing the public that clothing doesn’t essentially have to be perceived in certain ways. He’s showing us clothing doesn’t have to be categorised into male and female sections and everyone should be able to wear whatever they like, whether it be men in skirts or women in tuxedos. The world can become an equal place one day where its acceptable for everyone to be the person they want to be, rather than who society says they should be.
