If you’re tired of being in this situation and you’re over over the counter medications we may just have a much easier solution for you.
New research has revealed changing up your diet could be the answer to avoiding acid reflux once and for all. It’s also a diet that’s super easy to maintain.
The Mediterranean diet
The Mediterranean diet has been praised before with improving cholesterol and even boosting memory. But as it turns out this more plant-based diet can help sufferers of acid reflux. As well as improving your overall gut health.
The study shows eating a more vegetarian diet helps calm inflammation inside the body. As well as being kinder to your intestine than processed and heavy foods.
To try and adopt this diet more increase your intake of fish, healthy pasta (wholegrain), vegetables, olive oil, fruits and nuts. Also try to go vegetarian 90 per cent of the time. If cutting out meat altogether seems like a daunting task just try having meatless Mondays or something similar. Lowering the amount of meat you eat will help with heartburn.
So yes, you can beat acid reflux while still enjoying a tasty pasta. Bon appetite!
