Get Ready To Re-Enter The Surreal World Of Twin Peaks

It’s baaaaack! After 26 years David Lynch has brought back the iconic cult classic Twin Peaks, to television and computer screens all over the world.

The two hour long season premiere was released on May 21st. Viewers will have 18 brand new hours of Twin Peaks to look forward to.

David Lynch, one of the original creators of the show,  announced the plans for new episodes in 2014. Fans of the series have been excitedly waiting since then.

Twin Peaks was one of the top rated shows of the 90’s but eventually ended up being cancelled in 1991 due to a decline in ratings after only two seasons. This left the series with an abrupt cliffhanger of an ending.

The cast

Kyle MacLachlan is reprising his role as Agent Dale Cooper, and there will be many other old and new faces to see. Some other actors who will reprise their roles include, David Duchovny as Denise Bryson, Peggy Lipton as Norma Jennings and more.

Some exciting new additions have joined the cast, including Amanda Seyfried, Michael Cera, Laura Dern, and Naomi Watts.

Original creators, David Lynch and Mark Frost have written and directed all of the new episodes. They’re even bringing back the original composer of the theme music!

Metro’s James Baldock, wrote that the new series is “quietly brilliant…thoughtful and understated”.

The new series also promises to resolve the cliffhanger where the series left off 26 years ago, with Agent Cooper trapped in the mysterious “black lodge”.

So buckle up, make yourself a “damn good coffee”, and grab a slice of cherry pie. It’s time to re-immerse yourself in the weird and wonderful world of Twin Peaks.
