Kiwi stunt woman and actress Zoe Bell is on her way back to the homeland to take part in an important Reebok initiative. This initiative is one that could potentially save the lives of New Zealand women.
Zoe Bell and Reebok will be hosting their first Confidence Unleashed event. This will be the country’s biggest free, female only, self defence class on 23 November. This event has been created to coincide with White Ribbon Day which happens on the 25th.
The idea behind the event is to make Kiwi women feel more confident and capable of protecting themselves. At the event women will be taught about potential risks to their safety and how to deal with them. On the day you’ll be able to learn about blocking and how to get out of shoulder and clothing grabs.
One of the reasons why this event is so important is due to the high rates of violence against women in New Zealand. According to White Ribbon, one in three women will experience partner violence at some point in their lives. On average 14 women are killed by their partners or ex-partners each year. With statistics like these bringing awareness to the problem is highly important.
To help give women the basic tools in defending themselves Zoe Bell will be returning to New Zealand to take part in the event. Zoe has been a stunt woman in a hige range of Hollywood films including – Iron Man 3, The Hateful Eight, Kill Bill and most recently Thor: Ragnarok.
