I don’t know how, but I have heard from many friends and acquaintances of situations that begin with their iPhone in the toilet and end with a bag of rice. It is basically the end for your phone, much like it could be the end for headphone jacks in iPhones. RIP.
It would all be so much easier it Apple would just create a waterproof phone … something they may just have done.
The rumor mill is red-hot at Apple and according to Patently Apple, the newest iPhone may be waterproof.
The blog stated that a patent that was originally filed in late 2013 for colour-correcting technology in underwater photos has been published this August. Putting two and two together, the world is excited at the prospect of a waterproof phone. After all, why else would you need the ability to take perfectly lit underwater images?
The dream of going for a swim and taking the perfect summer selfie may become a reality for many iPhone users and many people I know will be saving the devastation of their iPhones dying in the toilet bowl.
Samsung fans on the other hand will be yawning at this news and suggesting Apple catch up. Samsung has the S7 and S7 edge, which are waterproof and can be submerged in 1.5 metres of water. Let the iPhone/Samsung battle continue.
Of course, nothing is set in stone. We will just have to wait until September 7 (apparently) when the phone is set to be released.
