When people share images of motherhood it is often their bundles of joy lighting up their life. What they don’t show is the reality of childbirth. Until now.
Thanks to the availability of social media, and that fact that we can share everything at the click of a button mothers are starting to share the reality of child birth or as one mum put it, motherhood uncensored.
“I’m sharing this picture because it’s real. This is motherhood; it’s raw, stunning, messy, and freaking hilarious all rolled into one.”
This is what Amanda Bacon wrote before she shared a picture of herself in mum-sized diapers after giving birth.
“Having a baby is a beautiful experience, and the realities of postpartum life aren’t spoken enough about. And definitely not photographed enough,” she wrote.
“Nothing says welcome to motherhood like an adorable squishy baby, and a giant mom diaper.”
“Other mothers love this ‘millennial mothers’ post, saying it brings back memories and love how ‘accurate’ this is. The post has accumulated 108,499 shares and over 86,500 comments.
This all may sound familiar and you may remember when Chrissy Teigen tweeted this…
no one told me i would be coming home in diapers too

The fact is, with the Internet mums can now be real and honest. Is life with a new baby all cuddles and cooing? No, it is diapers, spew and sleepless nights.
Other mums are loving her honesty, as you would expect! The Unmumsy mum shared the image followed by this.
“I love this picture doing the rounds on social media. Somebody commented, ‘I can’t help but feel that some things should be kept behind closed doors,’ but I see absolutely no reason why this moment should be censored or hidden if she wants to share it? It’s the reality and there is nothing embarrassing about a woman who has just given birth…so high five to you Amanda Bacon and also to your husband, who couldn’t look prouder 😂”
