Summer is just around the corner guys, there you go, we can all let out a collective sigh of relief. It is not long until we can wake up when we want, eat lunch when we want and most of all spend everyday on the beach.
The hardest part about a New Zealand summer is deciding what beaches to spend a majority of your time relaxing and playing beach cricket on.
Thankfully, we are here to help you out and tell you what is New Zealand’s best beach.
According to Tripadvisor, also known as the god of travel planning, Maunganui Beach is New Zealand’s best beach.
It’s not hard to see why or agree with this decision, especially being a kiwi that has spent countless summers on this beach – and around the corner at Copenhagen Cones.
The beach took home the 2016 travellers’ choice, beating out Piha (#2), Oriental Bay (#3), Ninety Mile Beach (#4), Kaiteriteri Beach (#5), Tunnel Beach (#6), Ohope Beach (#7), Orewa Beach (#8), Bethells Beach (#9) and Whangamata Beach (#10).
If you go to Maunganui Beach there are plenty of things to do other than enjoy the year-round spot and body surf the waves.
Get your sweat on and climb to the top of the Mount, don’t forget the obligatory snap up the top.
Go to Copenhagen Cones, the smell down the street will pull you into the store.
If you don’t like the tourists traps, head out to the other side of Tauranga and venture to waterfalls and other natural beautys on offer.
