It is amazing the power that a scent can have over our memories, just a spritz of watermelon-esque perfume and I am taken back to the days of intermediate school P.E. Just someone walking past in a cologne that your ex used to wear can make your heart sink a little bit.
It comes as no surprise that we want to find a signature scent, one that keeps us fresh and fabulous all day and reminds people of us. Sorry Taylor Swift Wonderstruck you did me well but it’s time to move on.
The secret to the perfect perfume is figuring out how to apply is right so you are smelling divine all day long.
We all know that we shouldn’t spray the fragrance on one wrist and dab onto the other, but do we know where we should actually be applying it?
The trick is to target pulse points and warm areas when you are spraying your perfume.
- On your wrists
- On your neck
- Inside your elbows
- Below your midriff
- Behind your knees
- On your ankles and calves
British perfume expert Ruth Mastenbroek suggested to Femail that you also spritz some perfume in your hair and behind your ears. Applying it to your hair is likely to dry it out, so maybe thing twice about this or try applying it to your hairbrush first.
