A name sticks with your child their whole life, so you want to pick something that they will enjoy their whole lives. Not something that is the ‘it’ app of the year. Right? Well it seems that is wrong.
While the top of the most popular baby name lists are dominated by classic names such as Sophia, Emma, Jackson and Aiden, there are some new names inspired by something pretty weird that we use on a daily basis.
The names? Lux, Ludwig, Hudosn, Valencia and Willow … noticing a trend yet? Yup, these names are also the names of filters on Instagram and according to the Baby Center they were one of the hottest baby name trends of 2015.
“This is the first time we’ve seen technology break through as a source of name inspiration,” Linda Murray, editor in chief of BabyCenter, said in an announcement. “Photo-sharing is a daily and emotional part of Millennials’ lives, and those two ingredients can trigger love for a name.”
