All jobs come with working hazards ─ especially when you’re a reporter asking rough people some rough questions. Over in Queensland, a 23-year-old woman who went to support an accused murderer at the Caboolture Courthouse stubbed her cigarette out in a scarily nonchalant fashion on reporter Alex Bernhardt’s face. The woman was hostile from to get-go when she left the courthouse ─ she lit a cigarette and blew smoke into reporters’ faces.
Just had a woman stub her lit cigarette into my face at Caboolture Court…Charming.

“Just had a woman stub her lit cigarette into my face at Caboolture Court…Charming.” Bernhardt responded in a tweet, which garnered much support from fellow reporters and colleagues.
We get that reporters can get a little intrusive ─ but isn’t this just a little too much?
