Located in the balmy Maldives the Four Seasons’ Landaa Giraavaru has established a wedding pavilion out in the ocean where you can get distracted with turtles swimming under your feet while you say your “I Do’s”.
The isle is glass bottomed and surrounding windows give you an almost 360 degree view of serene waters and tropical islands. Located off the northeast tip of the island the little chapel sitting is only accessible by boat or a brisk swim.
The 485 square foot structure is cosy though, and offers space for 16 guests, so you may need to leave out some of your least favourite relatives.
The Maldives was named the world’s best beach destination at the World Travel Awards and the area has always been a popular honeymoon wedding destination for obvious white sandy beach reasons.
Armando Kraenzlin, Four Seasons’ vice-president and general manager for the Maldives, said: ‘Landaa’s wild natural beauty has hosted so many incredible weddings and celebrations.
‘Our UNESCO Biosphere Reserve location really sets up apart, and our vision with the new wedding pavilion was to incorporate this in a way that surpassed anything we’d offered before.
‘Now wedding couples can surround themselves by – and draw inspiration from – the power, possibility and abundant beauty of the ocean.’
