Dog Runs Half-Marathon, Comes Seventh

If you’re maybe having a bit of trouble hitting that New Years resolution of running more, let this dog be an inspiration to you.

Ludivane, a two-and-a-half-year-old hound dog in Elkmont, Alabama, was let out of her house on Saturday morning but managed to sneak out of her backyard and into the starting area of the local half marathon, Runner’s World reports. Then, she proceeded to run the race.

She ran the entire 13-odd miles of marathon, stopping to sniff around a few times, and managed to place a pretty incredible seventh overall.

“All I did was open the door, and she ran the race on her own accord,” the pup’s owner, April Hamlin, told Runner’s World. She said she was surprised because Ludivine is “actually really lazy.”
