French Journalist Parodies High Fashion Ads in Hilarious Photo Series

Much has been said about how supermodels and the fashion industry have created unrealistic expectations about beauty. But one French journalist decided that she would have a go at recreating some iconic fashion shots using herself as the model. Nathalie Croquet worked with Photographer Daniel Schweizer to recreate photos modeled by the likes of Kate Moss. As for any sort of profound meaning behind the shots, Croquet doesn’t really have an agenda. “Women, consumption, retouching, cosmetics, aging, beauty, those all come to mind, but truly those issues are up for debate, I feel people need a more spiritual approach to life, and good fun,” she said. “I’m happy to give them that, even if I’m just making fun of myself.”
