Spy Valley is situated in the heart of one of New Zealand’s greatest wine growing regions – Marlborough. The Waihopai Valley in the south west reaches of the Marlborough wine region is best known for the Spy Station which is where Spy Valley wines got their name. The climate in the region lends itself to creating some great wines. You’ve seen our reviews on the Spy Valley Envoy Johnson Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2014 and the Spy Valley Envoy Outpost Vineyard Pinot Noir 2012.
This Syrah is from their Spy Valley range and is a classic cool climate Syrah produced from vines in the warmer parts of the Waihopai vineyard, handpicked and aged in French oak for 18 months, it delivers aromas of white pepper, herbs and licorice and a palate of rich plummy fruit with a silken texture and a dry finish.
Well priced, this wine delivers great value and easy drinking.
