April 12th saw the launch of Microsoft's Kin, a new series of touchscreen mobile smartphones focused on social networking, photography and the needs of Generation Y, its target audience.
Both versions of the phone are demonstrated here immediately after the release event: a square 4 GB version and a rectangular 8 GB model. In a lot of ways, it’s the spiritual (and social) successor to the T-Mobile Sidekick, whose parent company was bought by Microsoft in 2008.
We asked Microsoft to provide us with a demo of the device and its capabilities. If you’re curious about Kin, or are thinking about purchasing the device in the future (released in the US next month) here's a comparison for you to view.
