A GOAL SETTING WORKSHOP WITH BOYD GUNN
HOW IS YOUR LIFE GOING?
Work out how you're doing and decide on some action. Get a pen and paper and answer the following questions truthfully. This beats a New Year's resolution hands down. We can find out what areas we see negatively and change our point of view or the situation.
1. How much fun are you really having, day by day, right now? Scale of 1-10
2. Name three really fun activities you have done in the past, and two you haven't tried.
3. How happy and positive are you on average, each day? Scale of 1-10
4. Name two things you could change that would make you happier.
5. Are you really progressing on track to your personal and career goals?
6. Creatively think of five activities that could move you towards your goals.
7. How much effort are you putting into your career at the moment and why? Scale of 1-10
8. What incentive could you offer yourself if your motivation increased and you performed well?
9. What do you feel sad about right now?
10. Put the sad thing/person in the gap "I relax, release and let ........ go". Say 20 times a day when you are relaxed.
11. If you left this career today or got the sack, what new path would you take?
12. Name two other careers you could follow.
13. What is your gut feeling when you think of your career (N.B. Get what you believe, looking for the instant feeling that jumps to mind, not your opinion)
14. Write the reasons for your gut reaction to question 13 and how these could be improved.
15. How much do you like yourself? Scale 1-10
16. Write two things you don't like about yourself and then turn these statements round 180 degrees so they state the exact opposite. These are your self proscribed affirmations to say often.
17. What areas of your life are struggling and require attention?
18. Name two ways to reduce struggle in your life.
19. What do you feel angry about?
20. Name two people you can choose to forgive and stop wasting energy on.
21. What are you currently avoiding?
22. What can you do to resolve the issues you are currently avoiding?
23. What decisions need making that you are avoiding?
24. Make a quick intuitive decision based on question 23.
25. If you were your friend, what advice would you give yourself
26. Write your most important advice from question 25 here.
27. Name your five biggest fears?
28. Suggest two things you could do to overcome your fears.
29. What are you procrastinating about at the moment?
30. Name five courses of action you can take to move ahead in the next week.
31. Do you have specific goals to be achieved this year?
32. Name the five most important things you want in the next year.
33. What dominates your thinking each day, what do you dwell on
34. How can you focus on more positive thoughts each day?
35. Do you really believe you deserve to be successful and happy
36. Name three reasons why you deserve to be happy, and write them out positively.
37. Are you looking after your body, mind and soul?
38. Write five ways each that will nurture your mind, body and spirit.
39. What sports/ hobbies do you like the most?
40. Write two sports/hobbies you would like to partake in.
41. When was the last time you told your partner you love them, gave them flowers or a present, or took them out to dinner?
42. Over the next four weeks, plan a weekly activity for you and your partner.
Take out all the even answers from the above questions and this becomes your action sheet. We put a date on it - i.e: must be complete within 30 days. It allows people to analyse themselves and prescribe exactly what they personally need.
