Val Thomas ordered a vegetarian wrap from Tank Juice Bar at 162 Victoria Street West, Auckland. She told the Herald, “I thought it may have been a piece of meat or something but it tasted grimy, and then next thing I know I’m spitting out a bolt, which I certainly wasn’t expecting.”
“I was quite lucky that I didn’t choke.”
This was not the last time she was disappointed by the service.
“I thought I’d give them another chance.”
“The next time I went back there I ordered the same wrap without dairy, and when I opened it up it was full of cheese, which was the second problem in a number of weeks.”
After filing a complaint to Tank, she was offered a $30 voucher.
“That missed the point. I was more concerned about customers getting what they ordered and their quality control processes.”
