This Girl Was Photoshopped By Female Graphic Designers From Different Countries into the “Ideal”

A recent experiment by Onlinedoctor posed the question “How do perceptions of beauty vary across the globe?”

“Widely held perceptions of beauty and perfection can have a deep and lasting cultural impact on both women and men. The goal of this project is to better understand potentially unrealistic standards of beauty and to see how such pressures vary around the world.”

From that idea came this experiment. They asked female graphic designers from different countries to “Photoshop a female form by making her, in their opinion, more attractive to other citizens of their country.

The final results are varied and insane. Most give the girl a thigh gap, and usually slim her down. Or in the case of China, turn her into a stick woman with a dangerously low BMI.
