There are dog people and there are cat people/ladies. For all the dog lovers who can’t get enough of man’s best friend, there is a new app called Bark’N’Borrow which is a portmanteau of Uber and Tinder for dog-lovers who aren’t allowed to have dogs.
You can search for dogs around your area and arrange a meet-up for some canine companionship for your dog or yourself. The idea behind Bark’N’Borrow is to create a community of dog lovers both with and without dogs to provide playdates for your pup.
Once you set up an online profile like an online dating service you provide a reason for wanting to meet a dog and also the qualities that you’re looking for in a dog. The app and its services are free but payment is required for dog-sitting services, broadening the puppy-sitting market.
Dog owners who work long hours or frequent travellers would rather have another dog lover to look after their dogs instead of keeping them cooped up in the house. You’re probably worried about how an owner could leave their beloved pet with a total stranger. However, the founder Liam Berkeley, told the New York Times that the company took great pains to verify users and getting staff to review every account before they are allowed to interact with the community.
