This Tahitian Getaway Is Complete Paradise, With Just A Touch of Hollywood

Marlon Brando’s Tahitian island hideaway has now opened as a luxury resort that was recently listed on Booking.com.

Brando fell in love with Tahiti whilst filming Mutiny on the Bounty in 1962 and quickly snapped up the breathtaking atoll of 12 islands.

He then spent the rest of his life converting the private paradise into a small village with sustainable housing.

Since the actor’s death in 2004, the village and housing have slowly been turned into a luxury hotel in keeping with Brando’s sustainable ethos.

The resort, simply titled The Brando, contains 35 one, two and three bedroom traditional Polynesian villas, each with its own plunge pool and private beach area.

All food, drinks, activities and use of the spa facilities are included but at roughly $3,500 a night – to stay here you really need to be somebody.

Brando lived on the island with his Tahitian wife and children when needing an escape from Hollywood.

He is reported to have once said, “My mind is always soothed when I imagine myself sitting on my South Sea island at night”.

Jaime De Silva, Asia-Pacific spokesperson for Booking.com says, “There are more than 850,000 properties currently listed on Booking.com and every so often you come across an accommodation that just takes your breath away.

“It’s a stunning hotel on a perfect piece of paradise.”

So secluded is the atoll that it’s only accessible via helicopter or private plane.

It’s this seclusion that makes it an ideal getaway for Hollywood A-Listers. Leonardo Di Caprio is rumoured to have already been a guest.
