It’s nice to hear a feel-good story every now and again. What we have today is a compounding of kind acts between strangers.
It started after Tim Young and Paul Hullings, two firefighters from New Jersey going to a café after a 12 hour shift fighting a fire for some much needed coffee. Liz their waitress overheard their discussion about the fire they were fighting and when they went to pay their bill they recieved this instead.
The note reads “Your breakfast is on me today – thankyou for all that you dp; for serving others & for running into the places everyone else runs away from. No matter your role, you are courageous, brave and strong… Thank you for being bold and badass everyday! Fueled by fire and driven by courage – what an example you are. Get some rest! =) Liz”
After seeing her Facebook page Tim found out Liz had been trying to raise money for her dad to get a wheelchair accessible van.[facebook url=”https://www.facebook.com/Im.Timmy/posts/10153583631660086?pnref=story”]
A few days later the amount she had been aiming on raising ($17,000) was completely smashed with a final funding at $70,000.
“All I did was pay for their breakfast. I didn’t expect anything more than a smile,” says the waitress “It goes to show that you just have to be kind to each other and that even the smallest gesture can change a life.”
