The 2013 and 2014 growing seasons in Hawkes Bay have both received outstanding reviews and named the ‘Twin Peaks’ in wine-growing seasons. These seasons have produced some of our greatest wines and the 2015 season was by all accounts another outstanding growing season and the results are being highly anticipated. The Mills Reef Reserve Syrah 2015 is from the renowned Gimblett Gravels and one of the first Syrahs for the 2015 season that we have tried and we were impressed. This wine sets the pace for the 2015 growing season and if this is what can be expected then 2013 and 2014 are in for some stiff competition. We might have to start talking about triple peaks! What is even more amazing is this is not their premium wine, it is the Reserve label from Mills Reef. I can’t wait to try their 2015 Elspeth Syrah now. This delicious Syrah is brimming with a medley of black berry fruits and spice, aged in quality oak barrels has conferred depth, supple tannins and fine leather notes.

Remember to drink responsibly.
