It seems that Meghan Markle has come out of nowhere. Once an unknown name, Markle now stars in the hit show Suits and is dating none other than Prince Harry. With her own website called The Tig that is primarily dedicated to wine and food, Markle knows a thing or two about good, fresh and wholesome food.
As Career Girl Daily reports, Markle revealed what she actually eats on a daily basis. As you would expect, Markle eats a fairly healthy diet, however she does like to allow herself a few treats along the way. Yes, we can get behind that.
As soon as she wakes up Markle drinks hot water with lemon, a drink that helps to kick-start your metabolism and re-hydrate your body after a long period without water. For breakfast Markle eats steel-cut oats with bananas. To sweeten her oats, she adds a drizzle of agave syrup – a natural sweetener that is much better for you than plain old brown sugar.
At lunchtime Markle likes to stick to salads, adding some kind of protein to make her meal filling and help to sustain her throughout the day. For an afternoon snack she eats apple with almond butter. To jazz the snack up she adds a dash of sea salt, capitalizing on the whole sweet-salty food trend.
In the late afternoon, Markle has a green juice, helping her to up her vegetable intake and stay full until dinner time. While it all seems pretty healthy, Markle tends to have a good dinner complete with carbs and all, one of her favourite meals being pasta with, zucchini, lots of Parmesan and a glass of wine.
The sauce that she makes for her pasta is genius because it tastes like the real deal – butter and all – but Markle explained that she has managed to develop her own recipe that is slightly healthier than the average. “The sauce gets so creamy you’d swear there’s tons of butter and oil in it, but it’s just zucchini, water and a little bouillon,” she said.
Finally, a sensible and realistic celebrity diet that we could actually follow. Another reason we love Meghan Markle so much.
