Pantone Has Named Their 2017 Colour Of The Year

Every year Pantone Colour Institute works their magic and basically reveals a lineup of what colours will be hot in the coming seasons. Not only do their predictions influence fashion and interior design, but they tend to make their way right into the centre of pop culture.

After much anticipation, Pantone has finally announced their 2017 Colour of the Year and according to experts, it is an ode to new beginnings and a symbol of our reconnection with nature.  The star colour is called ‘Greenery’ and is also known as Pantone 15-0343.

“Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute. “Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalise, Greenery symbolises the reconnection we seek with nature, one another, and a larger purpose.”

The colour is a deep green with yellow undertones, perfectly conjuring up images of the great outdoors. Greenery symbolises the fact that as a society we have for some time been consumed with the artificial and the new, however our world is slowly shifting back towards placing greater value on nature, the organic and simplicity.

“This shift is reflected by the proliferation of all things expressive of Greenery in daily lives through urban planning, architecture, lifestyle, and design choices globally,” Pantone explains. “A constant on the periphery, Greenery is now being pulled to the forefront—it is an omnipresent hue around the world.”

FYI – we will all be wearing green in 2017 and we kind of love it.
