I don’t know who invented smoothies, but there have been many times in my life that I have felt that I need to personally thank this clever person for inventing a breakfast option that I can safely consume while driving to work, yelling at cyclists and applying my lipstick. Okay, maybe not safely, but you don’t even want to see my trying to eat cereal behind the wheel.
Not only are smoothies super convenient, but they are packed with vital nutrients that your body absolutely loves. In search of a new smoothie recipe to try, I stumbled across this recipe for Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s famous green smoothie. Basically spinach is a beauty superfood because it contains lutein, which is known for giving you healthy-looking, sparkly eyes.
This recipe is also jammed packed with Vitamins B, C, and E as well as potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, and omega-3 fatty acids that are all great for your hair and skin. If you feel like your skin needs a little something extra, I would recommend adding a handful of blueberries into the mix, as blueberries contain powerful antioxidants that are well-known for helping to keep tour skin in check.
- 5 handfuls of spinach
- 3 apples
- 4 stalks of celery
- Flax oil or coconut oil
- Optional: bananas, avocado, fish oil supplement, blueberries
