New Study Finds That You Can Lose Weight On A High Calorie Diet By Cutting Out This One Type Of Food
The word ‘diet’ is probably one of the dirtiest words in the English language because let’s face it, nobody likes giving up their Big Mac for a bag of baby spinach. For as long as I can remember the secret to losing weight has always been cutting down your daily calorie intake, with experts advocating for low calorie diets of all sorts. While living entirely on salad may sound desirable to some, I strongly believe that a life without fries is no life at all and therefore I have accepted that my streamlined ‘summer body’ will never really be a thing as long as calorie-counting is in.
Going against all existing beliefs however, a groundbreaking new study has revealed that it is actually possible to lose weight without cutting calories – even if you continue to eat ‘bad’ foods like pizza and bagels. Hallelujah! So what’s the secret? Apparently, saying goodbye to foods with added sugar will help you to lose weight without having to give up other high calorie foods that are lower in sugar.

The study that was conducted by the University of California followed 43 obese children who had chronic metabolic conditions. For nine days researchers changed the diets of the children, substituting their normal snacks and drinks for alternatives with the same amount of calories but less sugar. In place of sugary cereals, soft drinks and pastries, the children ate other high calorie foods like bagels, hot dogs and pizza.
