We all know that Karlie Kloss is well, a super babe. Whether she’s in the gym, or attending classes at New York University, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel knows a thing or two about maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Well known for her love of boxing classes, Soul Cycle, and Pilates, Kloss is one fit woman. In a recent interview with The Cut however, Kloss’s trainer and go-to for health advice revealed her secret to good health – and surprisingly it goes well beyond her killer workout routines.
Anna Kaiser is the founder of AKT fitness centre in New York City and regularly trains Kloss, acting as her right hand woman when it comes to health and wellness. Kaiser says that while a good workout is important, the secret to Kloss’s great health is actually all in getting a good nights sleep.
“Working out harder or better or eating less isn’t the answer. It’s about getting enough sleep,” Kaiser says. “If you have a choice where you’ve only been sleeping five or six hours and can sleep an extra hour or work out, sleep an extra hour.”
Overall, Kaiser says that sleep is more important than working out as it helps Kloss – and every person – perform at their best. “Five to six hours for a week really prohibits your cognitive and hormones functions,” she says. Any less and “you’re running your body down, which will affect your energy and hold onto excess water and weight. It will make you hungrier.”
