Now it’s been made official. Bali was named as the number one travel destination in the world in the Travelers Choice Awards by TripAdvisor.
Those who are in search of adventure will love Bali for its exciting hikes and landscapes. But it also a spot loved by those who want to relax with many resorts and spas. The stunning beaches, good diving points, and vast jungle all attributed to Bali’s success. It’s easy to see just from Instagram snaps why this is such a popular spot.
The Indonesian island is also known for its temples and meditation retreats and is home to around 4 million people. Plus it has an adorable monkey forest. South Bali and the city Ubud are the two main tourist havens. And close to 4 million tourists hit the shores of Bali every year.
TripAdvisor’s annual Traveller’s Choice awards are their ninth year. User reviews are the deciders of the TripAdvisor awards, with the use of an algorithm. Over a 12 month period, as well as bookings made through the site.
Bali has taken the spot from London which was last years winner.
London took out the number two spot this year. Third was the city of paris. Rome and New York also made the top five. While locally tourist haven Queenstown took the number one spot for travel destinations within New Zealand. Whitianga came second and Blenheim was a surprising third.
