Mercedes-Benz New Zealand have just announced iconic fashion label Zambesi will be the brand’s designer for NZ Fashion Week 2017.
The ‘Mercedes-Benz presents’ accolade
Mercedes-Benz have been an elite partner of NZ Fashion Week for the last four years. The brand support over 60 fashion platforms around the world.
The ‘Mercedes-Benz presents’ accolade began in 2003 at Los Angeles Fashion Week. Dame Trelise Cooper, Derek Lam and Harman Grubisa have all been selected in the past.
Unique style, craftsmanship and creative flair are all elements that are taken into consideration when deciding on a designer. They receive help from Mercedes-Benz which includes sponsored runway space, behind-the-scenes features and of course, a Mercedes-Benz to drive.
The brand state that they draw upon the unique parallels that exist between fashion and automotive worlds. Both of these industries recognise passion, style and high quality design.
Zambesi will show its 2018 Autumn/Winter collection as ‘Mercedes-Benz presents Zambesi’. The runway show will be the first evening show at NZ Fashion Week 2017.
The brand is thrilled to be chosen as the designer for Mercedes said Neville Findlay of Zambesi.
“The fashion world is enriched by Mercedes-Benz’s involvement in our industry. We’re honoured to be partnering with this iconic brand.”
To celebrate the partnership Zambesi have created two bespoke outfits which will feature in the show.
As a partner of Fashion Week NZ Mercedes will also provide official event cars during the week. These will take VIP guests in a luxurious fashion to shows.
General manager of Mercedes-Benz cars Ben Giffin said the company was proud to work with Zambesi.

NZ Fashion Week 2017 takes place August 28 – September 3.
