We all have a love-hate relationship with our heels. They make our bums and legs look so good but they can make you wince with every step after being in them for 20 minutes. If only there was a way to make them a touch more comfortable.
Who What Wear asked Dr. Harley Kantor, DPM, a podiatrist at NYC-based Chelsea Foot and Ankle to find a trick on how to make heels. When you wear stilettos, your Achilles tendon muscle is shortened. This can cause pain like tendonitis, fractures, sprains and weakness. The best thing to do to help with the pain is to stretch your feet before and after wearing heels.
Take a towel or a sheet and wrap it around the bottom of your forefoot. Lock your knees and pull your toes towards you to stretch your Achilles and calf muscles. Do this for 10-15 minutes before and after wearing heels.
