Bella Hadid was the star of the red carpet in Cannes when she wore a dangerously high slit red gown by Alexandre Vauthier. Her exposed leg looked like it went on for days and everyone couldn’t take their eyes off her.
It was a light breeze away from a wardrobe malfunction and had everyone at the edge of their seats at certain moments. It seemed like an absolute miracle that there were no slip ups. Vanity Fair spoke to Bella’s stylist Elizabeth Sulcer to find out how we, if we ever dare to, can wear such a gown that will floor all onlookers.
“We knew we wanted to create something really beautiful and iconic in collaboration with Alexandre Vauthier. He is an amazing friend and talent in the industry. Every aspect of the dress was planned.”
“The dress has a built-in silk bodysuit. Top-stick [tape] is always a good idea. Practice makes perfect.”
“You have to consider everything. A fitting is not the same as wearing the dress. Bella is smart and confident, and we knew she could wear that dress.”
