Mila Kunis Explains Why She Plans To Tell Her Children They’re “Very Poor”

When you have a kid, there’s a lot of things that you need to think about when you decide on your specific parenting style. On top of that, it’s a more complex situation when your child is born under the public’s limelight as a celebrity couple’s baby. Recently on the Kyle and Jackie O Show, Mila Kunis explains the discussions that she and Ashton Kutcher have about how they’re going to raise their children.

“The one topic of conversation we had even prior to ever having kids was always how do you raise a child to not be an a–hole? And it’s so important because we both came from pretty, pretty, solid poverty backgrounds and grew up very poor and are very much self-made and are very aware of what a dollar is worth.”

“It’s a matter of teaching them from a very early age that you know mommy and daddy may have a dollar, but you’re poor. Oh for sure, you are not rich. You are very poor. Mommy and Daddy have a bank account.”

Kunis also added that it’s “beautiful” that her kid’s don’t need to have “ketchup soup for dinner”. However, growing up as a privileged child, they’ll “never know how to appreciate things.”

Isn’t it so refreshing to hear this from an A-Lister? Although we know that her kids will live way more luxurious and privileged lives than us, it’s still inspiring to know that Kunis and Kutcher recognize and acknowledge the privileged bubble that their children would otherwise be raised in.
