PSA: ‘Fingermouthing’ Is the New Duck Face

First the ‘duck face’ then the ‘fish gape’ and now, ‘fingermouthing’ is the selfie pose that is taking girls’ Instagrams’ by storm. Notably started by Kylie Jenner, the term was coined by BuzzFeed and entails your fingers being infront of your mouth.

In an interview with ELLE UK, Kylie revealed that she did it as a habit to hide her lips: “I was so insecure about my lips. Even now I always post photos where my finger is always in front of my mouth…it’s a habit. I would always cover my lips.”

It’s being used to flaunt your lips, your nail game or jewellery:
