These Infused Waters Can Help You Lose Your Belly Fat

I don’t know about you, but in my office talk about summer and fitspo is slowly taking over. Whether it is our discussions of what healthy snacks we can devour to make ourselves feel summer-ready or about our gym trips, or lack of, the idea of being healthy has taken hold. None of us are particularly unhealthy or lazy, we just spend 80% of our day seated in front of our desks listening to fit folk taking a Les Mills class across the road – not the best way to prepare for summer and more importantly to become healthy and fit.

With our individual goals set (and a few of us partaking in the classic star-chart for exercise motivation) there are a few things we are looking to do while we sit all day, one of which is drink more water – but not just any water. This is water that has been dubbed the ultimate weight loss secret by some nutritionists.

Of course we all know that hydration is incredibly important, particularly in the warmer months. But how many of us actually meet our water quota everyday?  One way to do this, while aiding in any winter-weight loss is to guzzle down infused waters.

Experts have said that drinking water naturally boosts your metabolism. Drinking fruit infused water is not only an easy way to increase your water intake but by infusing it with other ‘health foods’ you can experience added benefits.

Watermelon/cucumber: these two things can help the body flush out toxins.

Lemon/Lime: these citrus fruits help to stimulate and regulate the digestive track.

Mint: this also helps you digest more effectively.  Mint is also known to relax cramped stomach muscles. More importantly, it tastes delicious (especially with blueberries!)

Blueberries: when these berries are in season the world is a better place. Blueberries are not only delicious but are the most nutrient dense berry. They are the king of antioxidants, perfect for protecting our bodies from damage by free radicals – think ageing skin and cancer.

The important thing is that you can add any fruit, because at the end of the day the more H20 you down the better.

You can make these waters in jugs or mason jars and leave them in the fridge but if you want something desk friendly, grab a bottle like this from Made by Fressko – after all if you are going to go this far toward being healthy you may as well by-pass BPA bottle and take care of the environment.
