You wake up in the morning and the last thing you feel like battling is your mop of hair, so, you chuck it in a quick and tidy top knot or pony, or perhaps you channel your inner Kim-K and try out some boxer braids. Unfortunately, these hairstyles could cause gradual hair loss.
A recent study has found that your favourite hairstyles may cause your hair to fall out.

Researchers found that there were strong links between traction alopecia (gradual hair loss) and hairstyles that pulled on the scalp or repeated tension on the hair root. Traction alopecia is is currently the most common form of hair loss!
Dr. Crystal Aguh, an assistant professor of dermatology at Hopkins, said: ‘Hair is a cornerstone of self-esteem and identity for many people but ironically, some hair styles meant to improve our self-confidence actually lead to hair and scalp damage.’
