Wine Review: Mud House 2016 Sub Region Series Grovetown Pinot Gris

Focusing the lens on the more niche areas within the Marlborough wine growing region, Mud House have come up with their new Sub Region series. With subtle differences in soil and climate, they have developed some very distinct characteristics in the range.

The Mud House 2016 Pinot Gris Sub Region Series Grovetown Pinot uses grapes from the fertile and finer soils of the Grovetown region. Slightly warmer temperatures have produced lovely depth and texture while still retaining bright fruit aromatics.

TASTING NOTES – with a colour of pale straw yellow and an aroma of red apple skins, quince and rich floral spice, the palate is refreshingly fruit driven with a long spicy finish. Ideally suited to spicy Asian chicken dishes. Think spicy chicken Donburi!
