An Osteria of Opulence, The Gucci Restaurant
The word “Gucci” is synonymous with luxury and extravagance. Italy’s highest-selling brand, the fashion house is known for its bold colours and prints and is firmly sealed in the pop culture lexicon, largely thanks to its current genius Creative Director, Alessandro Michele.
Gucci stores all over the world renowned for their creative flair and the brand’s strong association with celebrity culture means there’s little wonder that their flagship location sits in LA. To complete the already luxurious experience that is the Rodeo Drive store, the fashion house has brought together Italy’s love of fashion with another of its core cultural icons: food.
Three-Michelin-star chef, Massimo Bottura, a childhood friend of Gucci CEO Marco Bizzari, has recently opened the Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura Beverly Hills, a sprawling restaurant sitting on the rooftop of the Los Angeles store and the chef’s second collaboration with the brand.
Incorporating elements from Bottura’s Gucci Osteria restaurant in Florence, Italy, dishes are influenced by Los Angeles experimental food culture, using produce from local farmers’ markets, while also including the chef’s signature dishes, Tortellini with Parmigiano Reggiano cream and the Emilia burger.
The interior is decked out using Gucci Décor wallpaper, herringbone wooden flooring and cherry red velvet banquettes, while furnishings include antique mirrors, red marble dining tables and wicker dining chairs. The outdoor terrace, featuring Italian marble mosaic floors, is ideal for a lazy long lunch as punters are gifted with stunning views of Beverly Hills.
With a brand famous for doing luxury so well, we can expect Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura to sit perfectly along its new Rodeo Drive home.
