After its current refurbishment, the Wains Hotel is set to become the first 5-star boutique in the heart of Edinburgh of the South, Dunedin. The striking heritage building was built in the Italianate style and has preserved a exuberant façade. The hotel dates from 1862, making it the oldest hotel in Dunedin and the renovation aims to pay tribute to the history of the hotel and the city as a hub that thrived during the 19th-Century gold rush. This lavish theme will be reflected in the 50 guest rooms, as well as in the open spaces through the use of opulent materials and hues. Expect remarkable service to match the rich history and décor when the hotel completes its revamping late this year.
