A new project called “Self Evident Truths” is a photographic document dedicated in profiling people in the USA who “identify as anything other than 100% straight”. If you anywhere on the LGBTQI spectrum, then they want you to be part of their project. Created by artist/activist/photographer/film maker iO Tillet Wright, “Self Evident Truths” seeks to humanize and normalize people who exist in the non-straight spectrum of human sexuality. To eradicate discrimination, it is a project that is in place to erase the boundaries, namely “Lesbian”, “Gay”, “Bisexual”, “Trans”, “Queer” and “Intersex”.
16-year-old Lily-Rose Depp just joined the cause and is now among the 10,000 faces in this project. Amber Heard Miley Cyrus and Gaby Hoffmann are also among the more famous faces who have contributed to the cause. It celebrates a strong sense of self and by sharing individual stories and providing exposure, it slowly breaks the barrier of being an “other”.
Photographer iO Tillett Wright shared a behind-the-scenes photo of Depp’s photo shoot on his Instagram: “I’m so proud of my baby girl @lilyrose_depp,” Wright captioned. “She decided she wanted to be in @selfevidentproject because she falls somewhere on the vast spectrum, and I couldn’t be happier to welcome her to the family. She’s a tiny gem of a good human. #prouduncle #weareyou.”
