The Importance of Warning About ‘Stranger Danger’
Recently, an online personality by the name of JoeySalads posted a video of him conducting a social experiment involving children with some very chilling results. The aim of the experiment was to find out whether children would run off with a complete stranger with an enticing bribe ─ in this case, a cute little puppy.
JoeySalads approached a few mothers at playgrounds to talk to them about how often they warn their children about “Stranger Danger”. All of the mothers that he spoke with were confident that their kids wouldn’t speak to him, much less follow him back home to see the rest of his puppies. However, when JoeySalads went ahead to speak with their children, all of them accepted his bribe and walked away from the playground with him, hand in hand.
Their mothers were shocked as they watched their children walk away with a complete stranger without so much as looking back at them. As this revealing experiment showed us just how susceptible children are to danger and kidnappings, JoeySalads ends the video urging the public and parents to take note of this pressing issue.
over 700 children are abducted a day
If this doesn’t send chills down your spine, we don’t know what will. As Joey says in his video, “over 700 children are abducted a day” in America. In New Zealand, although our statistics are much lower than compared to the States, they have been increasing since 2005 from below 100 to triple the amount of cases over the subsequent few years.
