From humble roots in Nelson in the late 80’s, The World of WearableArt Awards Show has grown to a major Wellington based event, drawing tens of thousands of fashion and art enthusiasts every year. After the show is over, the marvellous creations live on at Nelson’s World of WearableArt & Classic Cars Museum. That’s all very well for those in the southerly regions of New Zealand, but what if you can’t make it down to Wellington or Nelson?
Not to worry, WearableArt is coming to Auckland for the summer! The World of Wearable Art Exhibition is on at Auckland Museum from the 21st November through the 22nd of March. The exhibition presents a behind-the-scenes look at the WOW collection before it embarks on a world tour. Showcasing some of the most amazing garments compiled from previous years’ competition winners, the display also gives a fabulous insight into how the annual showcase comes together.
Head along to see truly spectacular art pieces and learn more about this New Zealand event that is making waves worldwide.
